FDM
Nomenclature
FDM X.XXX” where X.XXX” = slice height
Slice height options
For: FDM 0.005”, FDM 0.007”, FDM 0.010”, FDM 0.013”, and FDM 0.020”
Tolerances
XY Tolerance = ±0.008” or ±0.002”/in whichever is greater
Z Tolerance = XY tolerance + slice height, ie FDM 0.005” has an additional Z tolerance of 0.005”
Tighter tolerances may be available on case-by-case basis via request.
Resolution
FDM minimum recommended wall thickness is 0.080” (0.120” for FDM 0.020” slice height).
FDM absolute minimum wall thickness is 4X slice height ie. Absolute minimum wall thickness fo FDM 0.007” is 0.028”.
Features thinner than recommended wall thickness may not build.
Thinner minimum geometry may be available on a case-by-case basis via request.
SLA
Slice height options
25 microns; 50 microns; 100 microns; 160 microns
SLA tolerances regardless of slice heigh are ±0.25% with a lower limit of 0.008”.
Tighter tolerances may be available on a case-by-case basis via request.
Resolution
SLA minimum recommended wall thickness is 0.050”.
SLA absolute minimum wall thickness is 0.025”.
SLA minimum resolvable feature size is 0.010”.
SLS
SLS Slice height
110 microns
SLS Tolerance.
SLS tolerance is ±0.3% with a lower limit of 0.012”.
SLS Resolution
SLS minimum recommended wall thickness is 0.060”.
SLS absolute minimum wall thickness is 0.030”.
Finish FAQ:
SLA Finish = Level 1—Support are removed and touchpoints are sanded.
SLA Finish = Level 2—Supports are removed and touchpoints and surrounding surfaces are sanded so that touchpoint location is no longer visible.
SLA Finish = Level 3—Supports are removed and touchpoints and surrounding surfaces are sanded to completely smooth. Clear parts will be nearly optically transparent.
SLS Finish = Standard—Parts are media blasted to remove un-sintered powder.
