Hardware installation

We install fastening hardware on printed parts under controlled conditions where mechanical performance demands it — into FDM, SLA and SLS polymer parts, including helicoils, threaded inserts, bushings, drill guides, rivets, and grounding leashes, as well as structural-adhesive-bonded hardware.

Hardware Installation

Printed parts rarely live in isolation. They mount to brackets, fasten to housings, mate with sensors, and integrate into wider assemblies — and that means they need real threads, real shear strength, and real mating features that can be tightened and re-tightened over a service life. Dowel pins for locating and solid bushings for drill templates facilitate the customer's assembly process.

We install hardware as a controlled in-house operation under our AS9100D quality system. Every certified insert, helicoil, or fastener carries an insert procedure, a torque spec where required, and a lot record traceable to the manufacturer.

Heat-set brass inserts

Pre-heated brass inserts installed at controlled temperature into polymer parts (including Ultem, PEEK, Antero, ABS) for repeatable thread engagement.

Helicoils, threaded inserts and bushings

Helicoil, threaded and solid-bushing inserts installed into parts for rapid assembly and drill guides.

Dowel pins & locators

Press-fit dowels and alignment pins installed for assembly nests and fixtures, to AS9102 first-article-inspection criteria when required.

Bonded inserts

Structural-adhesive-bonded hardware (e.g. EA 9394, EA 9396) into polymer parts (including Ultem, PEEK, Antero, ABS) for high-strength load paths on lightweight printed bodies.

Torque-verified

Every fastener can be torqued and verified with calibrated tooling: torque values are recorded against the build serial number.

Parts arrive hardware-complete and ready to integrate, eliminating customer-side install and the QA overhead that comes with it.
